Computes Woes

Last night, Tristan was over and we were playing WoW for a few minutes. Then all of a sudden my computer monitor went wonky and turned all purple. I turned off the computer and restarted it. Again, a purple screen.

It seems that my computer is down for the count at the moment. I am not sure if the problem is with the video card or the mother board's video capability. At one point I was able to get it to boot up without video since I was able to view my website via my Nintendo Wii.

Using the Wii, I did some searching online and found a thread that mentioned removing the CMOS battery and playing around with some of the jumpers. Well, I tried that and now my computer will not boot into the operating system. I somewhat think that since I "reset" the CMOS, the system is requiring some sort of first-time setup and since I can not see anything I have no idea what to do. But this is mere speculation.

I have some old computers, I'm using one now to write this up. The other ones are also in non-working condition, but I hope to spend today gettinglinux or something on one to act as my new webserver (I have been wanting to do this for many months now).

Hopefully I can borrow a video card from someone at work to test if that is all I need or a new mother board is required. (I was thinking of just going out and buying a new one, but I thought it would be more cost effective to see if that really is the problem or not first).
